Penny developed a fascination with the art of throwing pots at quite an early age having seen
demonstrations at a craft fair and in a potter's workshop. Throwing still
remains her favourite skill.
She started Adult Education classes in Surrey
but did not study seriously until moving to New Milton in 1995.
1995 - 1997 City and Guilds Ceramic Skills - Part I at New Milton Adult
Education and later at Brockenhurst College
1997 - 2000 City and Guilds Advanced Ceramic Skills - Part II at
Brockenhurst College.
After completing her Ceramics courses Penny did a further City and Guilds
course to teach adults and started to help with the learning disabled
students doing their G.C.S.Es at Brockenhurst College. This was the
beginning of a long association with the College and Penny is now a tutor in
the pottery at Lymington where she teaches Adults with Learning Difficulties.
